Learning in a New Way

The new MCG-UGA Medical Partnership campus in Athens will be a proving ground for an integrated curriculum model that differs from approaches taken by many medical schools. Each week begins with a clinical case, and through small group discussions and research, students “learn the science in a medical context”.

Kirk McAlpin

Kirk McAlpin works as a science writer and web designer for Georgia Sea Grant, a program that promotes research, education and outreach on the Georgia Coast. During his second year as an HMJ student he had a science writing graduate assistantship with the UGA Office of Public Affairs. A 2005 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville, Kirk is fluent in Spanish and is also a professional musician.
