The Last Free Summer for First Year Medical Students

The summer between the first and second year of medical school is described by some physicians as the last free time they ever had. For some it is the last chance for travel and personal exploration; for others, it’s a chance to work in a lab or gain clinical experience. First-year students at the MCG-UGA talk about their plans.

Stephanie Schupska has spent the last four years as a science writer/news editor for UGA's College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Before coming to Athens, she worked in various aspects of newspapers - from reporter to managing editor. She received her B.A. in English from Valdosta State University.
